Overview
Content types
News+ comes with four build in Content types
- Article
- Post
- Product (available only in Pro version)
- Slideshow entry
Of course News+ also supports the rest of Drupal's default content types: Basic page as well as the Webform content type.
Article
An Article post, similar in form to a story, is ideal for creating and displaying content that carries images and informs or engages website visitors. Time-sensitive content like news, press releases or blog posts may all be created with a article post entry. By default, an article entry is automatically featured on the site's initial home page, and provides the ability to post comments. It has the option to be displayed in the front page slide show. It provides the ability to attach an image which is automatically adjusted to fit into the websites layout. Article post enables free tagging (just like labels), taking taxonomy one step further.
Post
A Post is ideal to create and publish articles making use of all the special functionality built into the News+ theme. A Post can be displayed in the front-page slideshow. It also comes with the capability of attaching an image which is automatically adjusted to fit into the website layout. What’s particularly cool about the Post, is that it provides the ability to attach a series of images, thumbnails of which are automatically created and adjusted to fit into the website layout. Post enables free tagging (just like labels), taking the bests from the taxonomy system.
Product
A Product post is ideal for creating and selling products (e.g.: e-books) making use of all the relevant, special functionality built into the News+ theme. A Product can be displayed in the front-page slideshow. It provides the ability to attach an image which is automatically adjusted to fit into the websites layout. What’s particularly cool about a Product post, is that it provides the ability to attach a series of images, thumbnails of which are automatically created and adjusted to fit into the website layout. Product content type is available only in Pro version of News+.
Slideshow entry
A Slideshow entry is ideal for creating commercial banners as well as messages for your website. Use it to promote any page of your website or URL into the front page slide show. It can carry a title, a teaser and an image linking to an internal path or external link.
Image handling
News+ comes with pre-configured image presets ready to be used. All the content types, Article, Post, Product and Slideshow entry make use of this and produce all necessary thumbnails and other derived images.
Just upload your images and News+ will use them for the Front Page and any other place where a derived image is needed.
Pre-configured Blocks
News+ comes with a set of pre-configured ready-to-use blocks and view blocks:
Front page Slideshow
This view block collects and displays the promoted to front page Slideshow Articles, Posts, Products and Slideshow entries.
Internal Banner
This view block collects and displays all the internal banner image(s) of an Article, Post or Product, in the slideshow right below the header.
Breaking news
This view block collects and displays the Articles and Posts that have enabled the "Breaking" checkbox.
What's Hot
This view block collects and displays the promoted to front page & sticky at top of list Articles and Posts.
Latest Posts - main
This view block collects and displays automatically the latest published Articles and Posts.
News in images
This view block collects and displays automatically the images of latest published Articles and Posts.
User Latest Post
This view block collects and displays automatically the latest published Articles and Posts of users, into the user profile of each user.
Latest products
This view block collects and displays automatically the latest published Products.
Most Popular
This view collects the most popular Articles and Posts, based on the number of reads as counted by the “Statistics” module. This block is also by default assigned into a quicktabs block.

Twitter Updates
Connects with a given twitter account and displays automatically the latest tweets.
Tags
This view block collects and displays the tags of the "Tags" taxonomy vocabulary of your site as well as the number of the corresponding nodes that were tagged with this term.

Latest Posts - sidebar
This view block collects and displays automatically the latest published Articles and Posts. This block is by default assigned into a quicktabs block.
Archive
Display a list of months that link to content for that month. This block is by default assigned into a quicktabs block.
Google Map
This block displays the corresponding Google map configured through the theme settings.
About
Allows navigation to the previous or next Posts.
How to
Add a new Article or Post
- Select "Add Content" and click on the content type you want
- Enter a title
- Enter the Subheader body
- Enter the body text
- Upload as many images as you like
- Images uploaded through the "In-page image(s)" field will be used in the main content column of the node page.
- Images uploaded through the "Internal banner image(s)" field will be used in the full-width slideshow of the node page right below the header.
- Optionally enter the taxonomy tags you prefer
- Optionally upload a teaser image and enable the "Promoted on slideshow" checkbox to display the current Post or Article to the front page slideshow.
Add a new Product (Only Pro Edition)
- Select "Add Content" and click on "Product" link
- Enter a title
- Enter the Subheader body
- Enter the body text
- Upload as many images as you like
- Images uploaded through the "In-page image(s)" field will be used in the main content column of the node page.
- Images uploaded through the "Internal banner image(s)" field will be used in the full-width slideshow of the node page right below the header.
- Optionally enter the taxonomy tags you prefer
- Optionally upload a teaser image and enable the "Promoted on slideshow" checkbox to display the current Product to the front page slideshow.
- Add new Product to Store or connect existing Product from Store with the current Product node.
Promote a Post or an Article to the front page What's Hot block
In order to promote a Post or an Article to the front page What's Hot view block you should enable the "Promoted to front page" and the "Sticky at top of lists" checkboxes of the corresponding node.
Promote a Post or an Article to the front page Breaking block
In order to promote a Post or an Article to the front page Breaking view block you should enable the "Breaking" checkbox of the corresponding node.
Publish a post to the front-page slideshow
Post, Article
- Create a new or edit an existing Post or Article
- Make sure you have uploaded the Slideshow image using the Teaser image field
- Check the "Promoted on slideshow" option
Your image will automatically be uploaded and resized to fit in the Slideshow. Your post now is part of the front page Slideshow.
Slideshow entry
- Create a new Slideshow Entry
- Enter the title and upload an image using the Slideshow entry image
- Set the Slideshow entry path. It can also be an external link.
- Make sure the Promoted on slideshow check box is enabled.
All customizations regarding the mobile menu can be found at the theme settings.
To change the default responsive menu rendering and display the menu as a select follow the instruction below.
- Disable the Responsive multilevel menu option in the theme settings
- Enable the sf-Smallscreen plugin in the superfish menu settings of the menu block
